“No matter how much falls on us, we keep plowing ahead. That’s the only way to keep the roads clear.”

“No matter how much falls on us, we keep plowing ahead. That's the only way to keep the roads clear.” %0A― Greg Kincaid

Ever have one of those days when you just feel like you are ‘plowing’ through? I guess this quote sums it up…or at least I hope it does. I know when these days happen to me I find it difficult to see the point, I just have to have faith that something good is going to come out of it:)

I’ve had one of those weeks! My rescue mare kicked me on Tuesday and bruised my body, and soul. I thought we had built more trust than that. So I took her out today for what I thought was going to be a nice trail ride to soothe my wounds. When I got her out of the pasture, she was abnormally excited, and then my neighbor started shooting his shotguns and my husband was hammering on the roof….I was about to give up and put her back. But I thought that working on ground work with all the distractions would be good for both of us. And you know what? She took it all in stride! She did really well and I am glad that I didn’t just jump on her and have a horrible, frustrating ride. I need to remember to take all opportunities for what they are!

Stolen lap top, broken lawn tractor, colicky horse ..I was headed to my own little pity party when I realized that tomorrow is 9/11. Didn’t you ride Roxy to God Bless The USA? Tomorrow might be a good time to share it. Lest we forget.
