Horse training videos online? Do you like the idea? Already use it? Dislike it?

19 Dec

I need your opinion, will you participate?

If my training DVD’s were available to stream online would that interest you? It would be like renting, or buying, a movie online…the videos would not be mailed to you.

Please leave your feedback, or experience with this type of thing below in the comments.

Great idea, i have seen training Cds by most famous trainers and also see training of horses on RFDTV. I use these techniques to train my horses. There is always some thing to learn. I have seen about 3 to 4 different ways to load horses and all work. I think 90 percent of owners do not understand why horses behave as they do. This will help them learn more. I think this is good idea.

Would love it. I am 71 yrs young and have been training horses since I was 18. I learn from your videos every day. If you are open to new ideas you can continue to learn all your life.

you’ve recently become my favorite trainer. I want to be able to read what the horse is trying to tell me. You are explaining that with Jack.

I just purchased your entire set of DVD’s, but I love the online idea. I already subscribe to other online training videos & find it very convenient.

I would love to watch your dvds, but I haven’t bought any as heard that American DVDs don’t work in England (can that be true?! I don’t really know!!) but have never got around to finding out. So I would love to see them online and know they would work.

Melinda, you should be able to play a DVD from USA on your computer. I’m in Australia and I can’t play the DVD’s through my DVD player as it’s the wrong region but I can play them all through my Apple Mac.

Thank you Nikki. Technology is so confusing! I will go and have a more enthusiastic look at what DVDs are available, before I was thinking I probably can’t have them. Or may wait for the online version! Thanks.

I live in Europe and have education dvd’s from the USA and they worked perfect. About renting DVDs for learning and understanding I absolutely prefer owning the DVD myself. It’s always something you want to look over again and also you don’t take all of the information in the first or even the second time you see it. I often IMG_2446.jpeg back to the book/video during training, to make sure I’m still on the right track.

Hello Stacy, What price range do you have in mind for this video’s? If it is like renting what time period are you thinking about direct one stream or day/week access? Buying in your idea is that a full download or off-line shipping?

Dear Stacy, please continue to make the physical DVD’s. There is another trainer I really appreciate on YouTube. I would pay money for his online video’s, but I can’t get them to work on my device. Despite my efforts to get things to work, I just miss out. Also I live in bush with very poor internet access, so I really like the physical DVD’s.

I would love it, if I could download it so that I could watch it many times. (sometimes I have to watch more than once to get it).

I really like seeing that you have so much patience with Jac.. It will really pay off, I think we tend to get in a hurry and to find out it takes much, much more time to go back and correct things. Love the explanation on what he is saying to you, by his body language too.

I am loving the Jac videos and would purchase other learning opportunities online if available. Maybe you could even do a webinar type format. We utilize lots of these in our hospice business because they are a cost effective solution for training and there is usually a question and answer time at the end. Thanks!

My Internet is to slow, I would have to take it all the way to the shop to watch. Maybe down load but I don’t put much on this laptop it would slow it down than I would really be in Dinosaur time.

I think I would need more information. I LOVE being able to watch online and Jac’s series has been SO helpful! However, I would want to be able to watch them over and over again (and have my daughter watch them too.) so I wouldn’t like it if I had to pay to rent it over and over. I might be willing to pay a monthly or yearly fee if I had unlimited access to the videos. Does that make sense?
So my answer is kind of complicated. 🙂 I love the convenience of watching it online. I would rather not have to pay full price if I’m not getting an actual DVD. Yet if I have unlimited access to watch the videos however often I wanted then I would be willing to pay a fee.

    I hope that helps.

Yes, it’s fantastic for those of use who live overseas and don;t have access to things like rfdtv. I have used Chris Cox and Clinton Anderson without issue. I could not use the Julie Goodnight ones as her streaming was all choppy, I also had the same issue with Jane Savoies site

On behalf of all the people that don’t have access to this online survey. Please, please continue to make physical DVD’s. I would personally like to show my application of the hard work you have put into the Jac videos, by purchasing a hard copy. You deserve some financial gain for your dedication to help, people and horses.

Where I live, my internet connection is very slow so I’m rarely able to view videos well. I’ve been very much enjoying your training posts but am not able to view the videos that accompany them. When I want to view training material that’s filmed, I rent DVDs from Giddyupflix or Barnsweetbarn. They work like Netflix.

I think it’s a great idea, though you way want to still provide dvds. I wish clinton anderson would do the same with his training videos.

Since you began the “Jac” episodes I have been a devoted folllower. I would so take advantage of on-line streaming. I would however like them to be available for access at later times, because I like to re-watch them. I always pick up additional tips and information every viewing.

I love the Jac series, and I’ve watched all of them, but I haven’t tried streaming them on my TV, where I can see them better, or on my phone, which is portable so I can have it with me while I train. No wi-fi out in my riding ring, and my pseudo 3G service is more like 1G on a good day. Hard to say which format is best. I’d suggest that you offer the DVD with a discounted download with purchase like the Kindle promotion. That way we could have the best of both worlds.

I am in the same boat as several other people of living in the country and having poor internet connection. My preference, if it is possible, is to offer both streaming and DVD. Streaming for the lucky folks that have a good internet connection, and DVD for those of us that either don’t or want the ability to watch anywhere they have a computer, internet or no!

I love it and i dont have a horse!!! One day. Yes i would participate .I like to rewatch and make sure i dont miss anything. I have learnt so much from 1 and 2.I am a great lover of finding the right way to communicate with an animal. I train border collies and have rehabilitated if you will horses and to be honest there are many similarities. Body language is key, i get a real kick out of watching Jacks face!Thank you so much for sharing I feel greedy for more.

I would in a heartbeat. I live in Canada and international shipping can get interesting. And I find it much easier to download from iTunes and carry it with me wherever I go. Would be awesome to have your videos so easily accessible.

There is one major problem with having your DVDs online…you don’t have enough of them!! 🙂 I’m loving the Jac series and actually signed up for a horse video rental site just to rent your DVDs. Online would be very convenient and I wouldn’t have to wait so long for the next one!

Always wanting a horse, but ending up with rescued greyhound track dogs, “training” is and
sometimes is a challenge to say the least as they have no idea who they are having spent their
life in a box (crate). I’ve enjoyed watching the progress of Jac. I think the key word is patience.
