We need to be inspired.

Do you ever feel like laying on the couch and disappearing into the television? I have to admit that I do feel that way more often than I would like to. It’s during these times that I need inspiration. Zig Ziglar says “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” and I agree. Do you have someone or something that inspires you and how often do you seek it?

There is so many days if feel like just staying in bed watching tv. The only thing that really inspires me is photography! I can just go out for a ride and put some gravel in my travel just to fine something unique or just something simple to capture.

Literally 4 years after a serious injury accident, and many surgeries, I hit rock bottom one day, very suddenly and very definately. I struggled through constant pain, relied totally on others for my care, and thought I would never get to the barn or on a horse again. I prayed to at least sit on a horse again. After that day I struggled on for 3 more years. I will never forget that day, even as I go to the barn in a wheel chair now. I can sit a horse enough to trail ride, and really,
what is better than that! I am determined never to have that feeling of not wanting to get up again, and as long as there are horses waiting in the barn , I will struggle to get there.

I have learned over the past two years that a person has to let them selves the time to sit back and breathe. Although when I’m feeling like that is when I take the time to reflect on what I have done in my life what has happened to get me where I am today and I take this oppertunity to just go out and be with my horses. Sometimes I sit and watch the herd sometimes I play and sometime I do just sit and watch the boob tube. But I am always thankful for every breath I take. And I think that is what inspires me the most.

I do have people who inspire me. The ones on facebook I seek daily. The ones in person I sought foften throughout the last two years and they inpsired me so much though most have left my life for one reason or another. I keep my eyes and ears and heart open hoping for more to come! My horses inspire me greatly. I seek them as much as weather and time allow! Authors-Oriah Mountain Dreamer, Pema Chodron, Thich Naht hahn. Your liberty vidoes inpsire me! Steve Rother inpsries me. I seek his teachings as often as I can afford.
Lately I have been seeking inspiration in everything as much as I can. I admit that I wish It was more often. I am working on it!

These days it’s Facebook and YouTube. I get to wake up to amazing art posted on FB and I get to see amazing things like Stacy’s ride on YT. There’s so much inspiring stuff out there that just leads to more…

How True. With winter coming, it always gets harder to stay motivated. I need to be inspired almost daily to keep moving forward. Reading usually keeps me inspired. John Eldredge, Willard Harley Jr., Dale Carnegie, and the Bible have helped me tremendously. There are alot of great books out there ! I also need to lean on my very best friends. I learned a ton from a friend of mine that i usually only speak to over the phone. He and his wife are two very inspirational people. And in totally different ways.. but some areas exactly the same.. if that makes sense !! And i look at my family to keep me inspired. If you can keep learning about yourself, that should keep you inspired enough to stay off the couch. It’s not really a mindset or a need to change how you think… it comes from your heart. I seek all the above references daily.

I have lots of people, in my personal life , who are an inspiration to me. And for those that are in the spotlight, Stacy is the one public figure who def. inspires me. Everything rolled into one, courage, persistence, and the kindness and care and love for her family and her horses— topped off with patience. So much patience is needed to work with horses in the way that Stacy works with them. I’m glad that I got to view the video where she rode to the tune of “Live Like You Were Dying”.
