Stacy Westfall first meets Ellen DeGeneres

16 Nov

If you want the short version just jump to around the 4 minute mark where you can see Ellen spin on Roxy. The audio was cut out for the length of the song because the whole video kept getting pulled due to copy right.

Although this is labeled and was shown as ‘part two’ on the show it was the first time that I had met Ellen. When you see Ellen walk down the steps and I ride over and jump off…that is when it happened.

It was a great experience. I loved the part where Ellen was spinning Roxy because you can see how well Roxy was reading her rider. When the rider was more cautious…Roxy was more cautious. As the rider became more confident, Roxy stepped up the speed. That last set of spins was going somewhere!

The neatest part for me was gaining first hand experience of meeting such a popular person. It allowed me to feel those nerves, I mean the excitement 😉 of meeting someone very well known.

But you know the best part? Roxy’s reaction. Roxy showing us all that no matter ‘who you are’ horses are going to look at how you treat them and judge you by that.

I enjoyed watching you on that episode of Ellen….she made me laugh when leaving the scene bow-legged and I think she asked you ‘How long does this last?’

Great videos! I saw your bareback and bridleless video a few years ago and wished I could do something like that one day. I am well on the way now. It’s funny that you say you were nervous and excited about meeting such a popular person–that’s how I’d feel about meeting you!

I love your humility, Stacy. My kids & I went to our local library and saw your name on the cover of Young Rider magazine. You are pretty well known too! Anyway, we’re all equal in God’s eyes.

I love this video for the reaction that you see with Roxy, at one point in the spins she accually compenates for Eleeen being off balance and picks her up and recentres her. As Elleen’s. body relaxed Rocky took her to the next level in the spin. I love watching the body langauge of the horse and how well they read humans, and as you said they do not judge on how popular or well know a person is, the except us for face value,

I have a question for you Stacy, I was wondering how did the impact of being on Elleen, change the direction of where you were going with your career and if looking back on it do you think you would be doing what you are now and did you ever thing that you would be reaching such a large scale of interesting people and sharing it world wide?
